The inaugural Africa Children’s Summit (ACS) was held in Nairobi, Kenya, on April 10-12, 2023. More than 300 children from across the continent convened for this child-led conference to facilitate dialogue between policymakers and children. The children shared and discussed challenges compromising child well-being in Africa. These challenges included climate change, environmental neglect, limited opportunities for child participation, violence against children, inadequate education, hunger, inadequate access to health services, online safety risks, and unfriendly justice systems.
From the very first conversation, our team was deeply inspired by the work of the Africa Childrens Summit. The enthusiasm and dedication to their mission was contagious, and we knew this was more than just another project—it was a chance to amplify the ACS efforts and connect them with a broader audience.
Recognising their financial constraints, we took a bold step: we offered to sponsor and build their website, ensuring they had the professional, high-quality online presence they deserved. This was not just an investment in technology—it was an investment in their impact initiative.
With our sponsorship in place, we embarked on the journey of designing and developing a website that truly reflected the ACS identity. Our team worked closely with them, listening to their needs, understanding their audience, and translating their aspirations into a powerful digital platform.
We integrated interactive features, a user-friendly interface, and a storytelling-driven design that allowed them to showcase their work, engage supporters, and drive meaningful change. Every element was crafted with purpose, ensuring that the website became a dynamic hub for the ACS community.
